Syngenta invests 40 million Swiss francs in Münchwilen site expansion

Basel/Münchwilen - Syngenta is investing 40 million Swiss francs in its Münchwilen site in the Swiss canton of Aargau. The planned new buildings and conversions represent determination to maintain a long-term presence in Switzerland, says the agricultural technology company.

Syngenta is launching a major investment project in Switzerland. For around 40 million Swiss francs, the agricultural technology company will build a modern laboratory building at its product development site in Münchwilen as well as renovate and modernize existing buildings. There are also plans for new outdoor meeting zones to promote dialogue and collaboration between employees and create an attractive working environment, according to a statement.

The agricultural technology company conducts research and production in Switzerland and is headquartered in Basel. The work at the Münchwilen site is scheduled for completion by 2027. Syngenta expects optimized operating processes and improved infrastructure to not only increase productivity, but also significantly reduce its ecological footprint.

“With these investments, Syngenta is reaffirming its determination to maintain a long-term presence in Switzerland and to strengthen Switzerland as a business and export location,” Syngenta's Country President for Switzerland, Roman Mazzotta, is quoted as saying. “We are focussing on a future-oriented and innovative environment in order to remain internationally competitive and to secure our leading position in the research and development of innovative crop protection solutions.”

Sebastien Stoessel adds that the plant he manages in Münchwilen will set “an internationally leading standard in chemical process and formulation development” with this comprehensive expansion project for the benefit of its customers. ce/mm
