
Swiss researchers contribute to mapping the sky

(CONNECT) Based in the cantons of Aargau, Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft and Solothurn, the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) has become part of the European universities alliance Challenge.EU. Following an extensive period of preparation, the university intends to take part in the alliance’s collaborative teaching and research at European level, as was reported in a press release. The alliance promotes cooperation between students, academics and researchers to shape the future of university education.
“Through Challenge.EU, we are creating new opportunities for exchange and international mobility at the FHNW,” explained Crispino Bergamaschi, President of the Board of Directors at FHNW. “This will not only strengthen the expertise of our students and employees but will also promote future research cooperations.” The Swiss government is backing the FHNW’s inclusion in the alliance from 2025 to 2028.
Other partners in the alliance include the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany), the South East European University (North Macedonia), ECAM LaSalle (France), the Mid Sweden University (Sweden), the Universidade Europeia (Portugal), the University of Warmia and Mazury (Poland), the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (Latvia) and the Universidad Europea de Valencia (Spain). ce/ww
