Feldschlösschen planning high bay warehouse in Rheinfelden

Rheinfelden - Feldschlösschen is planning to expand warehouse capacity at its headquarters in Rheinfelden in the canton of Aargau. Specifically, the brewery and beverage retailer will construct a new high bay warehouse. For Feldschlösschen, this will underpin the environmentally and economically sound operation of its logistics network.

Feldschlösschen Getränke AG plans to build a new high bay warehouse in Rheinfelden. According to its press release, the brewery and beverage retailer has “conceived a long-term development plan for its headquarters” and thereby intends to “strengthen its base in Rheinfelden in the long term”. “With our long-term development plan, we are modernizing Feldschlösschen’s successful business model through logistics and making it fit for the future,” explained Feldschlösschen CEO Thomas Amstutz.

The new warehouse will be built right next to the existing bottling plant. A section of the plan for the 30m new building requires revision to increase the permitted maximum building height on the corresponding section of the site from 20m to 30m. The participation procedure for this revision was launched on 13 November.

Feldschlösschen states that the new warehouse will not increase traffic on site. Where possible, the company uses the rail network for long-distance transport. Trucks then handle distribution from the individual logistics sites. Feldschlösschen is also currently working with external warehouses near Rheinfelden, which can be terminated once the new high bay warehouse goes into operation. This means that the corresponding transportation to the external warehouses will no longer be necessary. ce/hs
