Axpo and Klimaoprema from Croatia conclude energy agreement

Baden/Samobor/Zagreb - Axpo has struck a long-term power purchase agreement with the Croatian firm Klimaoprema, a manufacturer of air-conditioning devices. With this move, Axpo is seeking to bolster its presence in Southeast Europe.

(CONNECT) The energy service provider Axpo, headquartered in Baden in the canton of Aargau, Switzerland, has concluded a long-term corporate Power Purchase Agreement (cPPA) with Klimaoprema. As detailed in a press release, the contract agreed with the Croatian manufacturer of ventilation and air conditioning equipment runs for a period of ten years. In total, Axpo intends to supply 17.5 gigawatt hours of electricity from renewable sources and in so doing cover the energy requirement of the production facilities operated by Klimaoprema, as the company writes in the press release. These energy volumes are said to correspond to the annual consumption of 700 households in Croatia.

“We’re delighted to welcome Klimaoprema to our growing customer portfolio in Croatia”, comments Filip Bozic, Senior Originator at Axpo Croatia. “This deal is a major milestone for Axpo’s activities in the country. In line with our business growth strategy, it demonstrates Axpo’s ability to offer tailor-made energy solutions while advancing the energy transition”, he concludes.

KOER, a technology company based in the Croatian capital Zagreb, was also involved in the process to reach this agreement. The company’s CEO Ivo Kresic was pleased with the outcome. “KOER is proud to help bring this cPPA to fruition, which will secure Klimaoprema’s long-term energy needs”, he explains, adding that: “We are pleased to have Axpo as our partner; their flexibility to adapt to and support our business processes is something we deeply value”. ce/ww
